With the intense development of planned cities and commercial and industrial infrastructure to meet the needs of a growing and young population, Saudi Arabia is critically aware of its future power and water needs. The Kingdom's water and Electricity Ministry estimates that the Kingdom would be required to at least double its current power generating capacity of 29.1 GW by 2025, at an estimated cost of $90 billion to $100 billion. In addition state-owned Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has estimated that up to 2020 the country will need to spend $ 50 billion on water projects (Source: Business Monitor international).
