At Ingrain's digital rock physics lab, Ingrain computes the physical properties and fluid flow characteristics of oil and gas reservoir rocks. Ingrain’s technology leads the industry in measuring shales, carbonates, tight gas sands and oil sands.
Ingrain’s mission is to provide a fast and efficient flow of detailed and accurate information about the porosity, permeability, resistivity, and elastic properties of rock samples. Ingrain operations are integrated into a single procedure, significantly increasing both the quality and the quantity of reservoir rock information which underlies field development in the oil and gas industries. By using advanced CT scanning techniques, and the processing and segmentation of the resulting images, Ingrain is able to create three-dimensional digital representations of reservoir rocks. These representations then form the basis for fluid dynamics and rock physics computational engines, by which the properties of the original rock samples are rapidly and reliably determined.

The company offers state-of-the-art logging packages tailored to provide solutions for the challenges presented by specific wells and projects. The primary customer for this venture is the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco). Featured technologies include EMITM for open-hole logging and CAST-VTM for open- or cased-hole logging as well as other Halliburton products as required. These tools represent the latest borehole imaging technology.
In a recent significant investment, the company purchased equipment, which includes three full-service XL2000 dual-drum logging trucks with full suites of open-hole and cased-hole tools, two crane trucks for rig less work, an MRIL transport truck and a full complement of maintenance facility equipment.
